Duties and Responsibilities
This position serves as a conduct administrator and investigator for student conduct cases. - Serves as a full time conduct administrator, adjudicating cases of moderate to severe student misconduct - Serves as investigator for time-intensive "critical incident" investigations, such as hazing, sexual misconduct, and serious criminal behavior - Recruits, selects, trains, and co-advises the Student Community Board, Loyola's peer adjudicating body; co-supervises two Board Chairs (hourly student staff) - Prepares and delivers various trainings and presentations to students, staff, faculty, and community partners regarding student conduct and conflict resolution - Tracks data to contribute to the assessment of OSCCR services -Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Education or Experience
Master's degree in higher education or related field; demonstrated experience in judicial affairs or related functional area, and experience with judicial boards. 40 hour mediation training or equivalent experience required.
Certificates, credentials or licenses required to perform the duties of this position:
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and use of the internet. A familiarity with the student conduct database software, Advocate (by Symplicity), is helpful but not necessary.
A minimum of 1-2 years in student conduct, conflict resolution, or related field preferred. Position demands exemplary communication and interpersonal skills in support of students and their day-to-day needs. The individual in this position is expected to focus his/her attention to serving Loyola students, handling all student issues with empathy and sensitivity, and striving to make students' experiences at Loyola rich and rewarding. Individual in this position is also expected to be a team player, to take initiative on new projects and to embrace change as well as to communicate and model Jesuit values and ideals to other employees and to students.
