Health and Wellness within the Office of Student Affairs is responsible for enhancing the health and well-being of the NEOMED student community by promoting healthy and sustainable behavioral change and supporting good health practices through education, prevention, collaboration and peer support. The Coordinator of Student Health Records provides the support for student immunizations and management of student immunization and insurance contracts and records within the Health and Wellness functions of Student Affairs.

Basic Function 
Coordinate the student immunizations and management of student records for immunizations and insurance. 

Serve as a coordinator of student insurance plans – maintain student medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance enrollment. Process premium charges. Liaison for students with insurance broker and third-party administrator. 

Responsible for verification of student vaccination status and tracking compliance, updating and generating immunization certificates as needed, and maintaining electronic records for all student immunization requirements. 

Assure institution is in compliance with accreditation standards and CDC . 

Maintain official student medical and insurance records of all health professions, undergraduate BS/MD, leave of absence, withdrawn, dismissed and graduated students. 

Review medical records for incoming students to assure compliance with Student Health and Advising guidelines.

Essential Duties 
Works collaboratively with Enrollment Services in developing techniques for identifying students with deficits on pre-admission. 

Coordinate vaccination clinics when needed including TB and Influenza. 

Generate immunization records for students doing M3, M4, P4 electives. 

Possess good working knowledge of all policies and guidelines of the institution, including but not limited to the policies on student health and wellness; reviews these policies on an ongoing basis and makes recommendations for changes based on the changing needs of the organization; explains policies and procedures to students and individuals in an appropriate and knowledgeable manner and in a way that fosters responsibility and compliance. 

Work within all state and federal regulations, including but not limited to FERPA , HIPAA and ADA . 

Work directly with the Director of Health and Wellness, chief student affairs officer, faculty, staff and personnel in student affairs regarding individual student issues. 

Assist all other areas of Student Affairs as needed and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Health and Wellness and the Chief Student Affairs Officer.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (preferred masters) in health sciences/services, nursing/registered nurse, counseling, medicine, nutrition or wellness education or related field.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in health and wellness education, preferably in a university or community setting required; experience with technology and data maintenance systems; additional skills in planning, organization and communication preferred.
