TITLE OF ROLE: Coordinator, Translated Exam
SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Manager, Certification Offerings
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The primary responsibilities are to administer and implement the translation process for various certification examination programs by working closely with the certification test development staff, the international certification coordinator, the Global Marketing group, and ASQ’s international partners.
SKILLS: Demonstrated work ethic and customer focus. Must understand cultural diversity. Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as proofing and editing skills. Good understanding of quality principles, team work and partnering skills. Must be able to build effective relationships with contractual partners, members, customers, proctors, key representatives of other organizations, and business leaders. Must have excellent organizational skills, prioritization skills, and must demonstrate the ability to follow through with individual assignments while handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and demonstrate attention to detail. Must have project management skills and strong computer skills in various Microsoft Office Suite applications. Understanding or ability to speak a second language is a plus, as is experience with database management.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a major in language (English or any foreign language), international studies, business or related studies; high school diploma is required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of work experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused or global business environment is required.
LIST OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Create examinations that will be translated into various languages as outlined on the appropriate test plan.
2.Identify and recruit qualified translators as needed for various languages
3.Ensure that translators understand, agree to, and comply with all contractual agreements, security procedures, and deadlines
4.Train translators in test development issues pertaining to language use, item format, test structure, etc.
5.Review translated examinations to ensure complete presentation of materials (all options, questions, etc.) and consistent use of terms, including identifying any potential flaws in the translation
6.Work with World Partners, etc., to set up exam sites and proctors for regular examination administrations
7.Coordinate the translation of supporting certification-related materials (e.g., body of knowledge (BOK), reference lists, sample questions, applications) and review the results to ensure complete presentation.
8.Coordinate examination printing and delivery and respond to issues related to shipping.
9.Perform post-administration duties including scanning, grading, scoring, and reporting of results for translated examinations and others.
10.Support special administrations of translated exams, including all pre- and post-administration responsibilities.
11.Maintain data and generate reports pertaining to the number of examinees applying for and taking translated examinations, pass rates, and trends of translated exam usage
12.Support cut score study meetings including recruiting appropriate subject mater experts, preparing materials to be used at the meetings, and preparing reports for the Certification Board.
13.Work with ASQ World partners, the Global Marketing Group, Country Councilors, and others to obtain proctors and sites if none are available.
14.Use database applications to ensure that accurate data is entered and maintained in relation to all certification activities.
15.Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Certification Offerings Workgroup.

2.External - Extensive contact with World Partners, International Quality Societies, Foreign Partners, International customers and members, contractual partners, member leaders and proctors
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: For exempt positions only
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Operates independently with supervision received from Manager, Certification Offerings.
1.Work conditions: Majority of responsibilities are performed at ASQ offices in a normal office environment.
2.Exposure to hazards: No exposure to hazards.
