TITLE OF ROLE: Coordinator (Grade 4)

WORKGROUP: Certification

SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Manager, Certification Offerings

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The primary responsibilities are to administer certification activities that result in the successful completion of the certification examination processes of international sites/applicants. Other responsibilities include assuring that ASQ certification examinations are accessible in all quality communities, regardless of industry sector, and communicating the value and benefits of ASQ certification to individuals and to the businesses they support.

SKILLS: Demonstrated work ethic and communication skills; understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and teamwork and partnering skills. Demonstrated capacity for embracing change and learning new technologies. Demonstrated skill in using project management tools, applying quality principles and techniques, using continuous learning, applying customer focus, supporting partnering relationships, and participating as team leader or member. Established capability for embracing change and learning and using new technologies. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the additional ability of being able to handle challenging situations when they arise. Must be able to build effective relationships with contractual partners, members, customers, proctors, key representatives of other organizations, and business leaders. Must have excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate the ability to follow through with individual assignments while handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Demonstrated counseling and negotiation skills. Knowledge of PCs and related software is required

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or related field is preferred; high school diploma is required.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of four years of experience in a customer-focused environment is required, with concentration on project management or administration.

1.Manage the administration of regularly scheduled Certification examinations in all required locations, while adhering to all conditions established by existing agreements and contracts. This includes working with global partners regarding international sites.
2.Exercise judgment to approve or decline candidate applications on the basis of established criteria for each examination program. Review and verify or seek additional input for Six Sigma affidavits in accordance with established requirements.
3.Perform essential pre-examination activities to meet customer needs, including determining when additional examination sites are needed and identifying those sites, finding sufficient numbers of proctors and support personnel, and ensuring that appropriate materials are provided in a timely manner.
4.Perform post-examination duties, including supporting the scoring and reporting of examination results, and providing candidates with clear and well-reasoned explanations of those results.
5.Establish and develop relationships with Global partners, member leaders and proctors at the international and section level to support the examination process, with particular emphasis on assuring and maintaining the confidentiality, security, and integrity of ASQ certification examinations.
6.Coordinate with contractual partners, industries, and enterprise and site members to coordinate special examination administrations and all related activities. This includes all pre and post examination activities.
7.Evaluate ASQ’s many certification programs in relation to various occupations, industries, and professional disciplines, and be able to explain how these programs can be used by quality professionals and those outside of traditional quality disciplines.
8.Advice potential users (candidates and their supervisors) of the value of ASQ examinations, and the impact certified individuals have on their organizations.
9.Evaluate the career goals of potential examinees and counsel them with regard to applying and preparing for appropriate ASQ examinations.
10.Communicate clearly and sensitively to issues presented by unsuccessful examinees, and respond to challenges such as lack of preparation, specific conditions encountered at the examination site, exam-taking strategies, and other related concerns.
11.Implement various software programs in support of certification processes, including executing Exambank programs, creating and generating TIMMS AI reports, and executing and troubleshooting Scantron programs, both before and after regularly scheduled administrations.
12.Assist the Manager of Certification Offerings in preparing expense budgets and the business planning process as it relates to certification programs and processes.
13.Support special activities by working with Web Offering and Information Technology on improving e-commerce applications and functionality, and providing updates for website information, etc.
14.Perform other duties assigned by the Manager of Certification Offerings, as needed.

1.Internal - Extensive contact with Customer Care, Financial Management, Global Distribution Management, Community Care, Community Development & Value, Information Technology, Web Offerings and Market Development.
2.External - Extensive and continual contact with members, Global partners,contractual partners, enterprise and site members, customers, member leaders, proctors, and business leaders in various quality communities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Operates independently with supervision received from Manager, Certification Offerings.

1.Work conditions: Majority of responsibilities are performed at ASQ offices in a normal office environment.
2.Exposure to hazards: No exposure to hazards.
