* General Responsibilities:
* Reports to the Associate Dean of Students/Director, Office of Student Life.
* Assists in the adjudication of student disciplinary cases.
* Assists with student organization and campus-wide event planning activities.
* Serves as a resource and referral source for students, faculty, staff, and guests seeking various types of assistance.
* Assists with student leadership programming activities.
* Assists with student recognition/award programs.
* Specific Responsibilities:
* Assists in the adjudication of student disciplinary cases, including investigating allegations of student misconduct, meeting with students, and providing appropriate written educational assignments/sanctions.
* Assists with student organization and special event programming. This area of responsibility includes student and university sponsored events such as Homecoming, Family Weekend Activities, and other such events/activities.
* Assists students and all other constituents on behalf of the office. Serves as a resource and referral source for students, faculty, staff, and guests seeking various types of assistance.
* Assists in the development and coordination of student leadership activities and programs.
* Assist in the coordination of student recognition programs, including the Rodney Mather Service Award, the Robert and Joy Crozier Leadership Award, the Service Learning Award, and the Gold Axe Award.
* The applicant will have at least the following minimum qualifications/experiences:
* Demonstrated work experience in a related field.
* A Bachelor's degree plus excellent written and verbal skills.
* Knowledge of administrative procedures needed to coordinate various activities and programs.
* Master's degree in related field.
* Experience and knowledge in working with students and student organizations within a college environment.
* Ability to work as part of the team and at the same time perform at high levels independently.
* Familiarity and work related exerience within a university environment.
* Experience in working with and knowledge of student conduct procedures.
* Experience in developing, implementing and coordinating various types of programs.
* Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.

* The Office of Student Life is a department within the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Northern Arizona University. The Office coordinates and/or assists with the following programs: processes associated with the registration of student organizations and the events they sponsor; adjudicates student disiplinary matters; coordinates programs associated with Parent and Family Services; coordinates the Childcare Voucher Program; provides walk-in student assistance; assists in the coordination of traditional campus events such as Welcome Week, Homecoming and Family Weekend; publishes the on-line Student Handbook; and advises the Associated Students of Northern Arizona University and the Associated Students for Women's Issues.
This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. If a new employee chooses the ASRS retirement option, participation in the Arizona State Retirement System, and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it, will begin on the first of the pay period following 27 weeks (6 months) after the new employee's start date. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), which is an alternative to the ASRS plan for faculty and other appointed staff, will begin to participate on the first day of employment.
