The Coordinator for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation ( LSAMP ) will implement various activities and projects associated with the program. The work requires the use of some independent judgment and discretion in support of the work efforts of both CSTEP and LSAMP .
-Implement workshops designed to increase student engagement and persistence, and graduation rates.
-Recruit and identify eligible LSAMP program participants.
-Meet with students to provide assistance in completing requirements for internships, research opportunities, and transfer.
-Track students’ academic progress and identify needed services to assist students in the pursuit of their academic goals.
-Attend scheduled conferences, lectures, and seminars at other institutions.
-Serve as a liaison to various community organizations and the Upstate Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation ( ULSAMP ).
-Develop, implement and evaluate new initiatives as necessary to accomplish program’s goals.
-Complete all LSAMP internal and external reports.
-Coordinate special projects as assigned by the CSTEP / LSAMP Director.
Bachelor’s degree in a stem discipline.
Master’s degree preferred in a stem discipline, higher education administration or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Experience in diversity programming and working with underrepresented populations.
-Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
