Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.
-Performs additional duties assigned by supervisor within the scope of position, following TTUHSC policies and procedures, in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
-Supports faculty members and assigned staff members with various clerical tasks and demonstrates initiative within area of responsibility; clarifies instructions when necessary and meets project deadlines.
-Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner and transfers phone calls to the appropriate party if indicated.
-Supports administrator and Assigned Faculty by composing, preparing and responding to all incoming documents and correspondence.
-Prepares P.O.’s receiving reports, travel applications, vouchers, and credit card charges for faculty while adhering to TTUHSC policy requirements.
-Needs to know how to use End Notes and Power Point very proficiently in order to maintain and document manuscripts as well as create detailed power point presentations
-Assists in the coordination and management of grants and research for the department.
Position Specific Qualifications:
Employee is responsible for direct support staff for 3-5 full-time faculty members. Supports faculty members and assigned staff members with various clerical tasks and demonstrates initiative within area of responsibility; clarifies instructions when necessary and meets project deadlines. Must have outstanding telephone etiquette. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, must be a team player, display flexibility, detail oriented and be reliable and punctual. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must have excellent English grammar and spelling skills.
-Will purchase equipment, supplies and educational materials as indicated.
High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for required experience on a year for year basis.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

This is a full-time position. The primary job location is at 9849 Kenworthy St., El Paso, TX 79924. May be assigned to one of the department’s off-site clinic on occasion.
