The Coordinator of Veteran Recruitment and Admission is primarily responsible for the outreach, recruitment and enrollment of veteran/veteran dependents for all the admissions offices on campus. The Coordinator takes a leadership responsibility in the development and administration of student services activities related to engagement, recognition and retention. The Coordinator works collaboratively with a team of professionals across campus serving veterans/veteran’s dependents including, but not limited to the Offices of the Registrar, Academic Advisement, Academic Support, Field Placement, the Student Solution Center as well as Deans and Department Chairpersons, to insure the admission and enrollment processes meet the needs of veterans/veteran dependents students.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, data-driven plan and strategy that increases interest, applications and enrollment from veteran/veteran dependent applicants. .
  • Develop and implement a customized marketing and communication plan suitable for both print and on-line mediums to support recruiting and enrollment efforts, consistent with the College’s established Enrollment Management communications strategy.
  • Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and academic opportunities at the College, with attention to the unique regulatory requirements of veteran/veteran dependents.
  • Cultivate relationships and manage ongoing strategic communications with appropriate members of military establishments, including email, print and other media.
  • Reviews and evaluates applications for admission and makes recommendations for admissions as appropriate.
  • Meet veteran/veteran dependents annual application goals and maximize their conversion to enrolled status.
  • Plan, organize and attend the annual cycle of college/job fairs and event coverage, and recruiting and yield events for veterans/veteran dependents admission.
  • Represent the veterans/veteran dependents students’ population on issues that impact and/or inform admissions policy as well as other College policies and practices that may impact student retention.
  • Establish a Veterans/Veterans Dependents Students Association and serve as Advisor, including the management of awareness, recognition and retention efforts to support this student population.
  • Develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies in target territories and yield management.
  • Develop and monitor statistical reports which gauge veterans/veteran dependents student satisfaction.

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A Veteran of one of the branches of the armed services is required.
  • At least three years professional work experience, preferably in a counseling, advising, mentoring role.
  • Experience meeting established quantitative goals.
  • Working knowledge of applicable government sponsored programs and services’ targeting the veteran population is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – successful experience in public speaking/delivering presentations.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills to interact with varying levels of college staff, faculty, students, vendors and service personnel, and the general public.
  • Intermediate level computer skills using a Windows based operating system, specifically MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle several projects simultaneously; attention to detail and deadlines required.
  • Ability to analyze data, monitor budgets and develop successful plans necessary.
  • Strong work habits including high energy, attention to detail, and the ability to organize effectively.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary.

Additional Information:
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full time, Full year

Salary Range: Beginning in the upper $30K's, depending upon experience

This position requires flexibility of schedule to include frequent travel, evening and weekend hours, especially during the recruitment season of September-November and February-April.
