Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing marketing and advertising copy for University publications, advertorials and the Hofstra Web site; writing speeches for the University president; and writing editorial copy for University publications including the alumni magazine and employee newsletter. The copywriter will work closely with other departments including Admissions, Alumni Relations and Institutional and Market Research in order to gather information for copy and may be asked to attend functions and meetings on campus, including some night and weekend functions, for the same purpose. The copywriter will generate ideas for articles as well as completing articles and copy that will be assigned. May perform other duties not specifically identified above but which require the same degree of skills and which are normally included within the above job title.
This is a part-time position, twenty (20) hours per week, flexible schedule.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in english, journalism, communications or marketing and possess a wide variety of writing samples.
