CHS is seeking an experienced individual with
a background in writing, editing, and proofreading to serve as copywriter for a
federally-funded project to establish or expand health education and
communication programs targeting tobacco use at the local level. The Copywriter will write advertising,
publication and Web copy as well as edit and proofread all materials for
content, clarity, accuracy and conformity to style.
Responsibilities:
Write advertising, publication, Web
copy, etc.;
Collaborate with strategy team to
determine the copy direction;
Craft copy that brings concepts to
life;
Ensure copy tone and style are
consistent with visual tone and style and ensure consistency across
media/channels;
Proofread and edit project
publications, brochures, websites and emails;
Clearly articulate thinking behind
creative ideas;
Ensure copy meets brand guidelines
and complies with Tobacco Control Act;
Manage translations with consultants
or staff assigned;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business
or related field; 5 years writing experience; the ability to act and adapt
quickly; attention to detail and ability to multitask; excellent written and
oral communications skills; thorough understanding of differences between
writing for newsletters, press releases, web and print; knowledge of Federal
regulations and public health goals of Tobacco Control Act; and familiarity
with FDA and its activities. Relevant
writing sample required.
