Job Purpose (Job Summary)


Assists in overseeing financial reporting and performs accounting and treasury functions. Ensures that reporting meets regulatory, GAAP, and Invesco guidelines. Assists in various special projects involving multiple Invesco departments.

Key Responsibilities / Duties


Prepares financial reports in accordance with GAAP, regulatory, and Invesco policies. This responsibility includes monthly financial preparation and reporting of Invesco's U.S. financial statements to the Financial Reporting Group.

Ensures that reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Ensures all new accounts, closed accounts, and maintenance items are properly accounted for in accrual system as per contract agreements.

Provides oversight, training, and review of offshore processing of new accounts, closed accounts, and maintenance items.

Responsible for monthly reconciliations of general ledger balance sheet accounts. Completes assigned reconciliations for review by Manager.

Prepares variance analyses (budget/forecast vs. actual). Communicates findings from analysis to FP&A and Accounting Manager.

Responsible for processing Fixed Asset transactions within the Oracle Fixed Asset module. Works independently to identify, investigate, and resolve issues as necessary.

Prepares journal entries in accordance with GAAP principles.

Responsible for recording prepaid assets and associated amortization expense.

Responsible for supporting the accounting for properties and leases, such as the accrual for personal property taxes and certain business license filings.

Performs special analyses and tasks that are complex in nature as required by the Corporate Controller, Corporate Accounting Senior Managers, or Corporate Accounting Managers.

Responsible for assisting Corporate Accounting Manager with providing SOX and regular audit requests and maintaining SOX flows and spreadsheet control documents and the compliance thereof by the entire team.

Working Conditions


Normal work environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.

May be required to lift, carry, or move weights of up to 10 pounds.

Frequent sitting and visual concentration is also required.

Work Experience / Knowledge


1-3 years of accounting experience at a public accounting or public reporting company is preferred.

Must have a general understanding of accounting and financial principles and be able to apply these principles to corporate accounting.

Must have a basic understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting rules.

Must have knowledge of SOX requirements.

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required


Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with a variety of individuals including internal and external clients are required.

Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and be proficient in reviewing financial data.

Must have the ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information.

Must be able to utilize computer equipment and software, specifically spreadsheet applications.

The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical.

Formal Education

A bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.

Certified Public Accountant designation or CPA Candidate is preferred.
