We are currently searching for a Corporate Accountant to join the Saint-Gobain North American Financial Shared Services Center in our Valley Forge, PA hub. Saint-Gobain North American Financial Shared Service Center of Valley Forge provides diversified financial accounting and reporting support to the operating affiliates of Saint-Gobain in North America. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Accounting and Reporting services team and intimately support the general ledger and financial reporting service requirements of one or more manufacturing customers of the Valley Forge Shared Service Center ("SSC"). The position's key responsibilities are related to direct assistance with the monthly closing procedures including preparing journal entries and monthly reconciliations. Supporting accurate and timely accounting & reporting of monthly financial results for SSC customer(s) served is the key mission of this position. This position is responsible for the financial control and management accounting of fixed assets and treasury accounting functions. This position will report to the SSC Accounting Manager and together they will work to fulfill the accounting and reporting services agreed to with the customer in the Service Level Agreement. A good understanding of accounting concepts, integrated accounting systems and ability to analyze data is a critical element of successful performance in this position. Superior customer service orientation is a vital attribute for this position.
Detailed responsibilities include monthly close, journal entry processing, month end account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting (additions, transfers, disposals, CIP, capitalization, depreciation, impairment, and related reporting), accounting system comprehension, internal financial reporting, audit and taxation compliance support, participation in accounting related projects. Respond to questions from customers and provide information to meet customer needs. Experience with treasury functions to include: bank reconciliations, wire transfers and daily cash postings. Full understanding and compliance with company accounting and reporting policies is critical to the position. Ability to work within demanding deadlines is required
•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and or Finance
•CPA is preferred with
•2-4 years general accounting preferably in a manufacturing environement
•Experience with integrated accounting systems is required - JDEdwards, BPCS and SAP highly preferred; Hyperion Enterprise Knowledge is a plus
•Strong problem solving skills
•Experienced user of Microsoft office products. Must be intermediate/advanced user of access and Excel
