This position's primary responsibility is to provide legal counsel and advice on natural gas regulatory and legal issues as well as civil litigation matters. In addition, this position will provide general legal counsel and assistance on a variety of other corporate issues.

-Assists Associate General Counsel in providing counsel on natural gas regulatory and legal issues and civil litigation support.
-Assists Senior Corporate Attorneys on variety of legal matters as needed.
-Assists in representing Company in local, state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings and before state and federal administrative bodies.
-Evaluates work of outside counsel and makes recommendations concerning retention of counsel on matters related to gas regulatory and litigation issues.
-Prepares reports for senior management regarding status and strategy of pending or planned legal matters and risks.
-Works directly with assigned clients to insure affairs of the Company are conducted in accordance with the law.
-Prepares and/or reviews legal documents to safeguard Company's legal interests.
-Represents the Company in the legal community.
-Performs other duties as directed by Associate General Counsel.
Recommended Education/Experience -
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Four to eight years legal experience in civil litigation required. Experience in practice before state and/or federal administrative agencies, particularly on natural gas regulatory matters, also preferred. Must be admitted to the Kentucky Bar or be qualified and willing to be admitted.
Special Qualifications -
Superb oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and thrive in fast moving environment. Must have the ability to carry out broad legal assignments with minimum supervision. Knowledge of energy industry a plus.
