Brasfield & Gorrie has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Communications Director. The Corporate Communications Director will be responsible for developing and executing the company's internal and external communications plans to support all eight Brasfield & Gorrie offices. They will set and guide the strategy for all internal and external communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate Brasfield & Gorrie’s vision and mission. This position will be located in our Birmingham, Alabama office.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Manage and write collateral material to promote our services, such as brochures, newsletters, videos, website content, direct mail programs and e-mail blasts
  • Provide input into the branding strategy and oversee implementation
  • Develop executive communications such as speeches, video content, e-mails, employee messages, and town hall slides
  • Develop communications plans to support corporate initiatives for safety, human resources, and career development as well as regional initiatives
  • Manage communications staff; communications coordinator and senior graphic designer
  • Manage special events/projects
  • Coordinate with public relations agency on external communication plans
  • Coordinate materials with all Brasfield & Gorrie initiatives, such as Safety, Diversity, Sustainability, etc.
  • Implement the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the company to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services
  • Manage media relations, press release writing/approval process
  • Manage content on our intranet, Connect
  • Develop local and regional advertising plans
  • Manage and oversee the online company store
  • Manage jobsite project branding
  • Develop/manage tradeshow messaging, materials to support marketing
  • Manage communications budget

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience:

Job Skills and Abilities:
  • MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher), Adobe InDesign CS6 is a plus 
  • Basic understanding of construction industry is a plus
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to research, analyze and synthesize information
  • Ability to effectively lead a team
  • Excellent skills in time management, organizing, writing, proofreading and editing
  • Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines

Education, Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or public relations required
  • 10-15 years of experience in a communications or public relations role
