The Corporate Counsel position will be based in Bellevue, Washington and report to Director of Legal Affairs. The role of the Corporate Counsel will be to provide legal support for the following teams within HTC’s North and Latin American regions: Product Development, including Product Management, Quality, and Support; Sales and Distribution, including members of the Operations Team that manage after-sales support for HTC products; Licensing. This position will also support other teams as assigned in US-based HTC subsidiaries.

Job responsibilities:

• Perform as trusted business advisor and legal counsel to North American and Latin American teams
• Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including master agreements, post-sales agreements, licensing and distribution agreements, services agreements, and other documentation related to supply chain management and product development
• Provide legal support and guidance on corporate governance matters
• Advise management on risks and benefits of corporate strategies and initiatives
• Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have:

• Juris Doctor degree from a top, nationally-accredited law school
• 4-7 years relevant experience, with a strong emphasis on technology transactions, in a recognized law firm or as U.S. or Latin America-based in-house counsel in a major company with significant U.S. or Latin American operations
• Experience managing legal and business risks associated with consumer electronics development, distribution, and warranty support strongly preferred
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements on behalf of multiple and diverse stakeholders, including international stakeholders
• A proven track record of accountability, attention to detail, and organization in a fast-paced environment
• A proven track record of integrating with key business teams and earning and retaining their trust over time
• Ability to analyze business and legal issues and to articulate findings and recommendations in a multi-cultural, international environment
• Confidence, sense of humor, and good judgment
