The Corporate Relations and Community Engagement Manager is charged with developing and implementing short and long term corporate engagement strategies for Community Food Bank. In addition, all corporate funding relationships, third party event and food and fund drive relationships will be cultivated by the Corporate Relations and Community Engagement Manager. The Corporate Relations and Community Engagement Manager will report to the Director of Development.

The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position. It is not all‐inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and, in addition, management as appropriate may modify this job description.

Job Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(IMPORTANCE, FREQUENCY)

Manage all corporate funding relationships which are not reserved for Director of Development or CEO.
  • Identify, research and qualify corporate funding opportunities; (5,5)
  • Cultivate personal relationships with new and existing corporate partners as appropriate for solicitation and reporting; (5,5)
  • Solicit new and recurring corporate donors through a variety of proposals, sponsorships, and volunteer engagement; (5,5)
  • Develop and implement corporate recognition program including annual gifts, sponsorships and food and fund drive involvement; (5,5)
  • Work closely with volunteer coordinator to ensure consistent experience for corporate volunteer groups; (3,5)
  • Ensure that corporate volunteerism is maximized as revenue‐generating opportunities and key donor engagement points; (5,4)
  • Oversee corporate volunteer recognition program; (4,5)
  • And coordinate annual workplace giving campaigns. (3,5)
Serve as primary contact for food and funds drive participants, corporate donors and third‐party event contacts:
  • Coordinate logistics of food and funds drives, including coordination with the Operations Department; (5,5)
  • Enhance and develop food and funds drive materials for participants; (5,5)
  • Assure that thank you‐letters for fund and funds drive are sent to participants; (5,5)
  • Prepare copy for and provide guidance to the Development Assistant on thank‐you letter preparation and distribution for food and funds drive participants and corporate donors;(5,4)
  • And ensure food and funds drives are maximized as revenue‐generating opportunities and key donor engagement points. (5,4)
Participate in strategic planning for CFB:
  • Represent and advocate for the organization in the community and at the regional level; (5,4)
  • Attend staff meetings; (3,5)
  • Adhere to Feeding America and CFB regulations and guidelines; (5,5)
  • And seek viable opportunities for the organization to cut costs. (5,5)
Provide excellent customer service to all CFB customers including CFB clients, staff, donors, logistics personnel, agency personnel, volunteers, board members, and the general public:
  • Engage in the following tasks or behaviors that represent excellent customer service: timely responses, punctuality and attendance, treating others with respect, distributing quality product, being knowledgeable and providing accurate information, and using appropriate non‐verbal and verbal communication; (5,5)
  • Assume the functions and duties of direct reports as needed; (5,3)
  • And other duties as assigned. (5,3)

(IMPORTANCE)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in, public relations, business, marketing or related field or possess extensive, relevant work experience (5)
  • At least three years work experience in the areas of, marketing/public relations, and/or community relations (5)
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets (5)
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, analyze data, make good decisions, attend to details, and manage projects (5)
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and thorough understanding of strategic development (5)
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate, and manage new accounts (5)
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) and work well with a variety of stakeholders from different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds (5)
  • Willingness to solicit donations and make requests to meet the agency’s demands (5)
  • Strong partnership‐building and organizational skills (5)
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing business environment including learning and applying new training and knowledge (5)
  • Advanced computer skills including the ability to work with database programs, word processing, spreadsheet, email (5)
  • Must have valid CA driver’s license with good driving record (5)
