The Corporate Security Intern will work closely with the CSO to maintain our security framework. This position will work in a dynamic team-oriented environment that combines technology, compliance and client deliverables. With an emphasis on assisting the Chief Security Officer in maintaining and communicating the security efforts or requirements to all associates, this role will gain exposure to all aspects of security within a corporate environment.
The Corporate Compliance Intern should have a natural curiosity, high sense of urgency, and interest in solving complex problems. This individual will have an opportunity to interact with internal stakeholders from cross-functional teams, and will be responsible for prioritizing and coordinating multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the management and monitoring of anti-virus, network intrusion prevention, firewalls, and vulnerability scanning
  • Help perform white-box and black-box security assessments on all applications
  • Assist corporate teams by suggesting, performing and documenting security best practices.
  • Assist with Security Awareness and Training
  • Review and monitor security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Assist in Incident Handling and Response
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
  • Senior or Junior level student in Information Technology or related area.

Experience:
  • Experience managing competing priorities, multiple projects, and high urgency projects is necessary. Past work with reporting services and SQL is helpful.

Communication/
Organizational Skills:
  • Must be interested in learning new things and mastering new skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment characterized by multiple deadlines, changing priorities, and client demands.
  • Strong attention to detail is necessary.
  • High degree of accuracy, desire to get it right, and follow-through are essential.
  • Must be able to manage complexity and understand multifaceted processes.

Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge and proficiency with the standard Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.) is desired.
  • Additionally, basic knowledge of the following is preferred: security and identity management concepts (PKI, SSL, privacy, workflows, provisioning); networking technology and security architecture, host hardening software, including anti-virus, and disk encryption concepts; TCP/IP; Cisco routers and switches; firewalls; Linux servers; Windows operating system in a large enterprise environment; knowledge of security and hardening of servers is preferred, but not required.
