The Corporate Strategy Group (CSG) is responsible for the development and implementation of the corporate strategy process in support of the Executive Team. The CSG also assists Corporate Development, the businesses, and other groups with strategy related efforts and studies. Typical activities include:
Developing and managing the annual strategy planning calendar ,developing guidance for strategy presentations, forecasting guidance (macroeconomic data, recession case scenarios, etc.) for the corporation
Identifying trends in the external environment, and using these trends to test business strategies
Leading and supporting the businesses and functional groups in the development of corporate level strategies
Working with Finance to quantify the impact of business strategies (i.e. forecasts of sales, revenue, earnings, and cash generation for the next 5-7 years)
Managing the agenda and developing selected content for the quarterly Executive Team strategy meetings
Developing and facilitating robustness testing of businesses across the corporation
Developing corporate level robustness analysis for the Executive team
Developing Enterprise Risk Management progress reports & presentations for strategic risks
Working with Finance and external consultants to and to develop and review alternative financial structures and scenarios for the corporation
Participating in the screening and assessment of Joint Venture and Acquisition (JVA) candidates
Supporting acquisition teams by providing business analysis where antitrust concerns may prevent current business management from participating in the exercise
Mentoring managers in strategy development across the corporation
Remaining current on strategy tools and techniques externally and across the company
Lastly, the CSG may conduct special analyses on an ad hoc basis in support of the Senior Leadership Team, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Marketing, Accounting or Finance. MBA is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years developing and facilitating business strategy.
Strong knowledge of strategy tools SWOT and 5 FORCES.
MS Office Skills – Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
