This position is responsible for supervising a crew of unskilled inmate workers in the stockroom at the Enterprise Sign Plant located within the Franklin Correctional Center in Bunn, NC. Must be able to maintain routine clerical records and possess ability to plan and carry out work schedules and orders to comply with established quality standards. Position will assist in the manufacturing of highway signs when requested by management. must enforce all safety policies. Work in an environment that may involve exposure to noise, dust, fumes, dangerous machinery, chemicals, body fluids, and falling objects. May require the use of personal protective equipment. Conduct visual and audio surveillance of inmates to ensure custody and security.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Must be able to maintain routine clerical records and possess ability to plan and carry out workschedules and orders to comply with established quality standards. Must be able to organize and direct work assignments of inmates, prepare a variety of written reports involving subjects such as inventory levels,inmate incidents, accidents, and production schedules. All DPS employees may be subject to reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing. Applicants seeking veteran's preference shall submit a dd form 214, certificate of release or discharge from active duty, along with application.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school and a minimum of one year of related industry/service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
