Under general supervision of the Shift Supervisor, utilize security vehicles to transport inmates between correctional facilities; maintains discipline; cooperates with law enforcement agencies, prepares written reports.

Requires the completion of ISP-Stateville Guard Training; requires one year of experience as Correctional Officer or related experience; requires thorough knowledge of Illinois traffic laws and safety rules; working knowledge of care and maintenance as assigned equipment; working knowledge of methods and transportation and surveillance of adults under custody; requires a working knowledge of factors relating to adult behavior and methods of maintaining a satisfactory relationship with them; working knowledge of first aid techniques and practices; elementary knowledge of courtroom procedures and ability to present adults under custody to various courts for trials; requires ability to use firearms; requires an appropriate valid commercial driver's license - class B with endorsement L (for operating a commercial vehicle with air brakes) and P (for operating passenger transport vehicles).
