This position is responsible for the reporting and tracking of manufacturing variances, inventory, inventory reserves, and accrued liabilities. This position reports to the Cost Accounting Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works closely with other members of cost accounting in coordinating the month end close.
Reports and analysis of month end manufacturing variances.
Meet deadlines for reporting of operations performance, including reporting of information to Corporate, issuing the monthly Operations Financial Package, and updating the Operations Website.
Compile the monthly inventory reserves and accrued liabilities
Prepare the monthly inventory reports, including inventory in-transit, and profit in inventory.
Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls and participates in testing.
Tracks mid month estimates of production order variances, scrap, and stock loss.
Performs reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts as required.
Works with Cost Center Managers to develop annual budgets.
Provides financial support for Cost Center Managers, including spending variance tracking and ad-hoc analysis.
Records fixed assets and tracking of capital spending for responsible cost centers in accordance with corporate policy.
B.S. in Accounting / Finance
Experience with accounting software is required; working knowledge in SAP is a plus.
Minimum of two years accounting experience; manufacturing environment exp is preferred.
Proficient in MS office tools; with advanced skills in Excel, designing and creating complex worksheets.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical ability required.
Ability to function in a team environment.
