The Packaging Technology division in the U.S. develops some of the world's finest quality products in the food, confectionery and pharmaceutical industries. More than 3,700 machines are installed in North America with some still in service after 40 years of production. This position supports the plant and finance management team with accurate and timely information and analysis. Responsible for cost accounting, project cost controlling and analysis, inventory reporting, margin and variance analysis, and standard cost maintenance. Supports month-end close process, reconciliations, and special projects as requested. Works closely with manufacturing and project management to understand the financial impacts of cost drivers and variances. Initiates and drives process improvements. Project Controlling -Margin analysis, plan verse actual - Monitor flow of materials, direct hours and open costs -Weekly processing and posting of direct hours - Perform month-end results analysis and settlement transactions - Timely closing of Production Orders, Service Orders, and Projects Maintaining Standard Costs - Daily costing of new and changed parts -Year-End cost roll processing and analysis -Inventory -Oversee daily cycle count program - Track inventory adjustments and scrapping -Prepare monthly inventory reports and balance to general ledger monthly -Prepare and analyze physical inventory reports -Work-in- Process analyze and reconcile to general ledger monthly - Stock machine reporting, reconciliation, depreciation Other Month-End Closing Support and Reporting -Variance Analysis -purchase price and manufacturing - Labor and capacity reporting and analysis -Department expense monitoring and reporting - Monthly account reconciliations as assigned Assist with budgeting and forecasting process Perform mitigating controls for Purchasing and Accounts Payable Implement and maintain internal controls policies and perform periodic audits Cross- train and serve as backup for other accounting functions as needed Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives (BPS) Responsible for compliance with all Bosch policies.
#2-3 years in a cost accounting position in a manufacturing environment. #Exposure to manufacturing departments/staff/activities, cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis. #B.A. in Accounting or Business Administration preferred. Skills and Knowledge #High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables and simple macros) #ERP experience, SAP preferred #Detail oriented
