We are currently seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team for a fulltime position. Glam is a consumer oriented media company that operates with a fast paced environment. The Cost Accountant for the Publisher and COGS accounting team will be the key driver of the publisher and other COGS processes. Our COGS includes traffic acquisition costs (TAC) paid to our global network of publishers and other delivery costs (Other COGS). The Cost Accountant will be working closely with cross-functional teams and resolves any issues related to these processes. This individual will also be responsible for monthly/quarterly/year end close for COGS and OCOGS. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make recommendations to current processes and systems to improve efficiency.
A little about the role:
Review and understand the non-standard publisher contracts and maintain the non-standard contract tracker.
Work closely with AP system team to ensure that publishers are set up correctly in the system as vendors per the contract terms.
Work closely with AP system team and Network (Publisher relationship) team to resolve any issues related to publisher process (like payments, contracts, etc.).
Work closely with Operation team to understand different categories of vendor costs (Other COGS) associated with the campaigns and ensure that the correct information is used for month/quarter end booking.
Prepare the monthly publisher payment file and ensure the accuracy of the payments before submitting to AP for processing.
Prepare COGS TAC, Other COGS, Intercompany Rev/COGS, Deferred COGS journal entries and related account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Reconcile the monthly publisher accruals against the actual payments and prepare the true-up entry, if needed.
Review and validate Other COGS vendor invoices and provide the correct COGS accounting codes to AP team for processing.
Identify inefficiencies in current processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
Prepare monthly and quarterly flux analyses related to COGS/OCOGS
Assist in quarterly internal and external audits
Provide analytical ad-hoc report as needed to upper management.
A little about you:
B.S. degree in finance or accounting
Minimum 3 years of finance/accounting experience; media experience a plus
Experience in middle market sized public company is preferred ($250MM)
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Excellent attention to detail, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work successfully and effectively on cross-functional teams
Ability to interpret and summarize data to assist management in achieving strategic and operational goals
Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast pace, high-growth environment
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel (vlook-up, pivot), Word, Outlook, etc.)
