Responsible for all the day-to-day activites of the cost accounting function for the organization. Act as the liaison between the Manufacturing Accounting staff, business teams, and General Accounting to develop processes and actionable reporting surrounding the Company’s product cost. Work closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis function and Global Sourcing to develop and maintain the standard costs and budgeted/forecasted costs.


  • Responsible for maintaining accurate product costing and inventory valuation
  • Assists in analyzing organizational performance and monitors and evaluates financial variances
  • Develops and refines standard costs for material, labor and overhead
  • Performs monthly inventory closing activities along with supporting analysis, reviewing inventories for LCM reserves and raw materials reserves for obsolescence.
  • Proactively analyzes cost drivers and communicates issues and opportunities to manufacturing management while identifying trends and interpreting for senior management
  • Partners to develop metrics and tracking systems to continuously improve operational performance.
  • Supports the annual audit by compiling inventory-related schedules and documentation
  • Provides financial analysis related to inventory and product costing as required


    Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA, CMA or MBA is a plus

    Experience: 3 plus years of Cost Accounting/ Cost Analyst experience in a standard cost manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP integrated systems, specifically JDE EnterpriseOne is a strong plus. Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products and prior experience analyzing data within a Business Intelligence (BI) environment is required. Consumer products manufacturing experience highly desired,

    Skills: Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals including plant personnel and marketing. High attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills required.



    Internal: Contact with all functional areas in corporate office and operations facilities to share and provide information. Heavily interactive with Plant Controllers, the FP&A function and the Manufacturing System Stewards.

    External: Works with auditors, tax consultants, and vendors to exchange and provide information as required.


    Work Structure: Works under the direction of the Cost Accounting Manager.

    Responsibilities: Provide accurate and timely financial information to management, relevant functional managers, auditors and tax preparers while ensuring the necessary internal controls exist to maintain safety of the Company’s assets.
