Directly affiliated with the Counseling Service division of the Counseling Center, the staff psychologist will be responsible for providing services to students and the University community, by offering individual and group psychological counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention. The generalist psychologist is skilled in fostering the academic progress and career development of University students through a variety of career counseling and psycho-educational interventions. Clinical supervision and training of interns, externs, practicum students, and other trainees are required. Periodic teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department of Psychology and/or the College of Education is expected. Involvement in scientific research for publication in refereed journals, affiliation with professional organizations, and/or presentations at national and regional conferences are desirable.
Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. Successful completion of an APA accredited internship. Early career psychologist (within six years post-doctorate) who is licensed or licensed-ready to practice psychology in the State of Maryland.
