Marketing Services acts as an internal consultant on fee-for-service work on behalf of Cargill Business Units. The Marketing Services team is currently seeking a
who will provide strategic creative direction to Marketing Services team, Business Units, Platforms, Functions and external resources. Provide direct service to and manage multiple projects on behalf of Business Units, Platforms and Functions. Responsible for leading the creative team to produce integrated print, digital and video marketing communications work. Responsible for personnel management of at least 3 graphic designers project planning, budget management, and future development of the creative practice area.
40% - Direct Service – lead/direct assignments, lead team development of creative briefs and project estimates, provide direct service to Business Units, Platforms and Functions from concept to finished work, provide thought leadership and strategic direction to Businesses, Platforms and Functions on their integrated marketing communications plans, B2B marketing, digital sales presentations, partner with MS marketing managers on marketing and communications solutions for clients.
25% - Business Development – lead/coach new business development and relationship management activities for creative team, collaborate with other MS staff on presentations, cross-selling our services and cultivating new business opportunities.
15% - Team Leadership – provide coaching to creative team to produce print, digital and video work, approve/define new staff positions and job accountabilities, identify required and relevant skills/capabilities and gaps, oversee professional development. Provide input to MSLT and help develop/shape dept. strategies re: talent, collaboration, engagement, new products/services.
15% - Planning – set team priorities, develop work assignment process, develop strategic and tactical plans for the creative practice, assist with the long-term planning for the dept., stay current on external new technologies and communication approaches and build connections with other functions and BUs on new media tools/applications.
5% - Budget Management – oversee project and team financial results, approve expenses and use of external resources, including graphic and web designers, art directors, writers.
10 or more years of business experience
5 or more years of experience in supervising creative teams and managing creative resources
Experience with print, digital, video and social media
Portfolio of produced work, demonstrating talent in various media
Experience working in integrated marketing teams with an understanding of the full marketing process
Proven written and oral communication skills; persuasive and influential
Proven project management skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional, team environment
Ability to develop and mentor talent
Ability to travel (10-15%), mostly domestic U.S.
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in graphic design or BA with emphasis in marketing, advertising, technology or media
Preference for agency experience working with both B2B and B2C clients and campaigns
Experience in building and managing brands
Experience in leading successful creative teams
Via portfolio, a proven technical mastery in all facets of design, including traditional and emerging
Record of success in design leading to business results
