We are searching for an exceptional Creative Director to join our team within our Promotional Marketing practice area of G2 USA in Chicago, IL!
The Creative Director is an passionate, inspirational marketer who helps develop integrated creative solutions based on the needs of the client’s business. The CD ensures that all creative work is strategically on-target and utilizes proven digital/shopper activation techniques for generating response. Additionally, the CD works closely with account and client contacts to help manage the client’s business needs. With experience grounded in the digital/shopper space, the CD will effectively lead teams on day-to-day assignments, guiding toward successful creative executions grounded in insights.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS - Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide creative guidance and inspiration for copy, design and production of his/her group’s projects by offering insights, vision and tactical solutions for both copy and art
Align with the GCD to coordinate the creative development of shopper marketing campaigns across several retailers
Formulate and direct design guidelines for internal and external printed materials per retailer specific needs
Create and manage projects from concept to production and provide creative, innovative, and always impactful copy and design
Ensure that all creative is consistent with each client’s brand look and feel
Participate in strategic input, brainstorm/buildstorm sessions, client presentations, and photo and TV shoots sessions when necessary
Participate in new business development/RFP responses
Nurture and develop the skill sets of all members of the team
Stay current with cultural, advertising and shopper marketing creative, industry trends and advances in print and web technology as it relates to our clients
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS - While we appreciate all interest, please do not apply for this role unless you meet the following required skills:
Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field
8-12 years experience in a promotional/shopper marketing agency or advertising environment, with 2+ years of concentrated concepting for retail promotions
5+ years of experience in the digital/shopper marketing space, with specific experience in various retail outlets including food, mass, grocery and drug
5+ years experience with CPG clients across brand and promotion perspective
Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills who can manage many projects simultaneously, while consistently driving toward business building efforts
Ability to work closely with other agency departments (account, production, strategic planning) to manage project deadlines while overseeing his/her creative staff
Hands-on knowledge of a range of industry software (e.g., PhotoShop, Illustrator, Quark, Macro Media Director, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint)
Understands the intricacies of brand architecture and can develop, adhere to and extend brand campaigns
Strong sense of type and design with a solid understanding of marketing objectives as they apply to creative development
Excellent presentation and overall communication skills
The ability to understand, communicate and develop creative concepts that meet defined client strategies and business objectives
Solid leadership skills and the ability to interact positively with employees at all levels of the organization
Ability to accept constructive internal and/or client comments with regard to concepts and copy
