Award-winning Chicago-based engagement marketing agency is seeking a strategic, creative leader with a minimum of 10 years experience developing strategic creative platforms for Fortune 500 brands. Candidates must be able to concept against event and experiential marketing programs and bring them to life with breakthrough ideas and designs with a focus on branded environments and graphic elements. The Creative Director (CD) also must possess strong management skills with proven experience leading a creative team. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and presentation skills are also required. As a key member of senior management, the CD will be responsible for evolving and managing the creative and design process from ideation to execution. The CD also must lead the overall creative direction of the agency and collaborate with account teams and clients to deliver superior results. In addition, the CD will play a key role in agency new business and marketing efforts and must possess strong business acumen.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the design and development of all creative support materials, including print collateral, POS, premiums, set design, video and digital components
Lead and develop creative team; provide clear creative direction, motivate and inspire creative team
Facilitate collaboration and communication with account service teams
Collaborate with production team to confirm technical feasibility of projects
Conceptualize, present and develop strategic concepts for highly effective event and experiential marketing programs that meet and exceed client goals and objectives
Integrate live and digital/social campaigns
Build, manage and evaluate vendor relationships to ensure appropriate service levels and cost management
Develop processes to manage the cost and effectiveness of projects against budgets to ensure account/agency profitability and client satisfaction
Actively strategize and contribute to agency growth; initiate and participate in business development process, proposals and presentations
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills Required:
Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience managing a team or department
Strong design/art direction skills and background including Illustrator, Mac, Photoshop, etc.
Inspires/gains confidence of client and account teams
Ability to develop strategic and tactical solutions and processes
Expert knowledge of all steps required in the creative development process, including concepting, design, art direction, copywriting and production
Proven ability to implement and manage the creative process and workflow
Technologically savvy; familiar with latest graphic and other relevant technology and capabilities
Highly motivated with the ability to adapt to change and multi-task in a dynamic agency environment
Works well under pressure and with tight deadlines
Experience with spirits clients is a plus
Well-rounded, broad marketing experience, i.e. experiential/event, promotional, digital, etc.
Culturally astute and aware of current trends including technology, music, fashion, arts, etc.
Superior oral, written and strategic abilities; Outstanding presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills that encourage collaboration and relationship building
Ability to monitor/evaluate marketing environment for brand-building opportunities
Strong local vendor, freelancer, etc. relationships a plus
Bachelors degree required
