Alabama Ag Credit is a financial institution that provides financing for agriculture, agribusiness and rural real estate purchases and improvements. The institution is headquartered in Montgomery with nine offices that service the lower 40 counties of Alabama. With approximately $700 million in assets, the institution is a cooperative and part of the nationwide Farm Credit System.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required in finance, business administration, agricultural economics, or other related field, or commensurate experience. Applicants will have a minimum of three (3) years experience with a good understanding of accounting principles, an understanding of the fundamentals of credit administration, financial analysis, accounting standards and the use of various computer accounting and financial applications and computer literacy. Applicant must know basic financial statement analysis, forecasting, cash flow and collateral analysis. Applicants must be detail-oriented and an understanding of agriculture is preferred, but not required. Salary and employee incentives are commensurate with experience.
JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Assists loan officers in the analysis, servicing, and reporting of the association’s loan participations, mortgage and commercial loans. Performs credit and financial analyses on complex/multi-entity loan originations; monitoring and due diligence review of various loan packages/opportunities; and review, reporting, compliance and loan servicing activities. Moderate travel is required.
Will frequently interact with customers, association’s departmental staff and management, area professionals including real estate agents, commercial bankers, and others who deal with the association in the normal course of business.
