The primary responsibility for this position is to maintain assigned portfolio of accounts according to the Credit Department guidelines. This position is responsible for assessing credit worthiness, setting credit lines, managing orders on credit hold, and collecting past due balances on customer accounts

Representative Responsibilities:
Partner with sales force and accounting team to manage credit inquiries and credit line determinations
Evaluate and determine appropriate action for orders on credit hold
Analyze credit reports, financial statements, and other available credit tools to ensure appropriate credit line extensions within authority levels
Process applications for the establishment of new customer accounts, including requests for financial information, bank and trade references, and consumer credit reports
Negotiate installment payments or adjust payment terms
Assist sales force with credit inquiries and update credit line information
Advise customers and sales force of declines or holds via letters (mailed or faxed), phone calls, and/or email
Monitor and maintain credit lines
Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
Resolve past due issues by contacting customers

Key Performance Indicators:
Percentage of A/R >60 days past due is meeting acceptable standards
Percentage of A/R< 30 days past due is meeting acceptable standards
Percentage of A/R current is meeting acceptable standards
Carhartt’s credit department results are in line with other consumer product companies in the CRF quarterly trade receivables survey or other industry benchmarking

Entry Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
2 or more years of experience in credit or customer service are required; business-to-business credit experience is preferred
Preferred: Experience establishing credit lines based on credit information received—credit reports, trade references and financial statements
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office is required; SAP experience is preferred
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to review and analyze basic financial statements, credit reports, and bank and trade references
Ability to be professional while dealing with sensitive information and communicating with customers
