Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing has an immediate opening for a Credit Analyst in our Houston, TX Office. The Credit Analyst is responsible for the review, adjudication and monitoring of credit exposures resulting from the operations of all Enbridge Energy Partners business units. The incumbent will insure that all files, approvals, supporting documentation are in accordance with credit policies and procedures. This position will provide accurate, timely and professional reporting and monitoring of credit exposures to the front office. The analyst will provide credit analysis and review of buyers and suppliers to Enbridge to insure that they have the financial strength to complete all contracted obligations.
Ensuring compliance with all credit policies and procedures
Update contact information for all product trading partners or counterparties
Update and maintain current company financial, market and operational data in ROME.
Reviewing, understanding, and analyzing collected data including financial statements using credit evaluation techniques
Analyzing counterparty profiles for assessing/understanding changes in financial statements and associated implications
Recommending appropriate actions (approval, decline, credit support etc) based on credit analysis
Reviewing and monitoring exposure to counterparty and setting/recommending credit allowances and limits
Participating in contract negotiations (NAESB, Conoco GTC’s, Gathering & Processing agreements)
Ensure that all structured transactions are within the Enbridge credit policy.
Providing counterparty credit exposure reporting to all levels of management
Negotiating guaranty and letter of credit language and amounts for Enbridge trading partners or counterparties
Participating in dispute resolution and settlements with counterparties
Develop strong working relationships with all marketing areas of the company
Liaise with industry credit professionals concerning industry credit activities, trends and best practices through direct contact and professional association.
Participating in special projects as assigned
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
Sound knowledge and understanding of financial statements and financial statement analysis
Knowledge of energy trading, NGL and gas processing activities
2-3 years of Credit experience with an energy marketing or trading company (or related business).
Strong oral and written communication skills
ROME and Openlink experience preferred
Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
MBA, CPA or CFA preferred
