Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform consumer loan underwriting activities related to decisioning loan requests with the goal of achieving the optimal outcome for the bank and for the borrower. Review requests from borrowers for lower APR’s or increased loan amounts. Ensure compliance with established bank policies, company guidelines and regulatory requirements. Complete these duties within established service level agreements (SLAs) and commitment to customer service. Utilizes a high degree of independence in solving problems and making decisions. Works within established lending authorities. Ensures duties are carried out in an efficient and cost effective manner. Efforts are focused on achieving maximum customer service.
Review loan applications in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and policies, while performing a thorough investigation of credit information from credit reporting agencies and other sources to determine an applicant’s creditworthiness
Analyze and interpret credit reports
Calculate and evaluate debt-to-income ratios
Analyze tax returns and other financial documentation in order to make the best credit decision possible.
Communicate loan decisions and requests for additional information to both applicants and Sales Consultants.
Adhere to established bank policies, company guidelines and all regulatory requirements
Maintain acceptable turnaround times for applications submitted
Verify income per established guidelines
Provide excellent customer service within established service level agreements
Perform other duties as required
Shifts: Shifts will vary but will be 9 hours shifts with an hour (unpaid) lunch or dinner. Shifts are set. Must be able to work any of the following days, four shifts during the week and one weekend day, up to 12pm. GreenSky is open 363 days of the year.
Location: Covington, Kentucky. Candidates will train for 15 days in Atlanta.
Organizational: This position is a member of the Credit Department and reports to the Manager of Credit Operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must have 1-2 years in customer facing banking
Self-starter, works with some direction
Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate across various lines of business
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
Ability to work independently on routine, repetitive tasks and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Successful completion of background check.
Strong Internet research skills.
Desired but not required Qualifications:
Knowledge of GreenSky’s products.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
Educational and/or professional background in credit or underwriting.
Knowledge of SalesForce
