Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates credit data for member business loans and provides independent recommendations for loan approval while ensuring minimal risk exposure consistent with the Credit Union’s member business lending policies. Implements and performs according to the established TDECU’s REAL standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Member and Employee Service

Provides a high level of service to members and employees relating to account information and timely feedback for requests.



Performs a quantitative analysis of financial data, such as financial statements, tax returns, inventory listings, receivable and payable agings, projections, and business plans, in order to make recommendations with regard to a credit. Contributes to acquiring information from borrowers as needed.

Analyzes current credit data and financial statements of the member in order to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.

Prepares credit analysis memos for Relationship Managers, Construction Lenders, and Special Asset Division which summarize credit investigations, economic and market conditions, historical financial analysis, sources of repayment, and recommendations for a course of action.

Responsible for conducting regular, periodic reviews of member business relationships in order to assess the ongoing financial position of business members. Makes recommendations of risk grade changes after each review as needed.

Stays abreast of changes within the Credit Union’s services and procedures.


Data Entry

Spreads business tax returns and financial statements and personal tax returns and financial statements using analysis software for evaluation.


Departmental Assistance

Assists Relationship Managers, Construction Lenders, and Special Asset Division by providing written analyses which include the strengths and weaknesses of the credit, recommendations, and note any deviations from member business lending policies and procedures.


Community Relations

Actively participates in community relations activities and groups to represent the Credit Union.

Minimum Qualifications:
(Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)



A four year degree and / or mix of equivalent education and experience is required.



One to two years of job related experience including familiarity with member service, business lending, loan risk, and credit analysis is required. (Three to five is preferred)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge in business and consumer lending, credit reporting, accounting principles, economical statistics and loan processing, and credit analysis.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and/or other financial software.

Strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.

While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to stand, walk, and sit. An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds to perform essential position functions.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Attendance Requirements:
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. This means that the employee is required to report to work on time and must remain available to clients during scheduled hours.

This position requires face-to-face interaction in person or by telephone and e-mail with customers, clients, and vendors.
