PURPOSE AND DISTINGUISING CHARACTERISTICS

CashCall, Inc. is looking for dynamic professionals that are self-motivated, trustworthy and can quickly adapt to change in a fast-paced environment. The Credit Officer is responsible for evaluating credit applications received from approved auto dealerships. Must be fully qualified to evaluate and approve or deny credit applications submitted for consideration by auto dealerships. Must have ability to adhere to current underwriting guidelines and responsible for making profitable credit decisions in a timely manner. Will be the main office contact for the dealership and must develop relationships with dealership personnel. Credit Officer will work in conjunction with Dealer Sales Reps to assure monthly goals and objectives are met. The Credit Officer is required to assist the Auto Funder by following up with dealership on missing stipulations and documentation to assure timely funding of contracts. Credit Officer is required to follow all company compliance regulations.

EXAMPLES OF TASKS
  • 75% - Decision applications and negotiate with dealership for capture of contracts
  • 15% - Ensure prompt funding of in-house contracts
  • 10% - Establish and maintain a working relationship with assigned dealers, Dealer Sales Reps and funding team members

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must be literate and fluent in English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general correspondence
  • Must have ability to respond to questions from clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizing exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Computer literate with ability to perform computer functions with accuracy
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the sub-prime underwriting process
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret all three major credit bureaus is essential
  • Multi-tasking and organizational skills are a must, as is the ability to be a team player and communicate well with employees in other areas, departments and customers
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to stay organized with multiple tasks while decisioning deals that adhere to approved credit guidelines
  • The ability to maintain a quality portfolio is a must, as is a clear sense of urgency and accountability

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • The employee is infrequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision and the ability to adjust focus

  • The employee will be required to travel to automobile dealerships and be physically fit for travel duties
  • Flexible schedule and shift work may be required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • BS/BA or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years as an Underwriter of Sub-prime Auto financing
  • Must have deep experience and understanding in the sub-prime auto finance market
  • Requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude
  • Analytical and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Ability to effectively develop and maintain strong business relationships within the auto dealership space
