The Credit Representative is a critical position within the Company having the responsibility to manage assigned Accounts Receivable portfolio including the management of Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Accounts Receivable aging, and bad debt goals. Other tasks include order review/release and some credit analysis while enforcing credit policies.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to ensure positive relations continue between the Company, AR, internal and external customers while answering questions, researching balances and payments of accounts in assigned portfolio and processing collections as required.
Professionally handles all outgoing and incoming calls through respect when reconciling discrepancies with customers.
Professionally uses credit knowledge, skills and experience in granting extensions of credit and/or recommending placement of accounts to collection agency or for bad debt write-off.
Maintains electronic/computerized and manual record information about financial status of customer and status of collections ensuring credit files are complete.
Skills / Requirements:
Associate’s Degree AND 1-2 years COMMERCIAL CREDIT/COLLECTIONS experience OR High School Diploma/General Education Degree AND a minimum of 4 years COMMERCIAL CREDIT/COLLECTIONS experience.
CURRENT BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE IN COMMERCIAL BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS (B2B) CREDIT AND COLLECTIONS IS REQUIRED.
Must have proven experience maintaining excellent relations with internal and external customers using professional interpersonal, verbal and written communications to ensure DSO, AR aging, and bad debt goals are met or exceeded.
Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail, coordinate various activities simultaneously, ability to identify, define and solve problems and have the ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality in all activities.
Must have the ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information and responding to requests timely plus assist credit analyst, management or other team members as needed to ensure individual and department goals are met.
Must have proven experience using Excel. A 2007 EXCEL ASSESSMENT WILL BE GIVEN AT TIME OF INTERVIEW.
