We are currently seeking talented Credit Risk Management Executive for our San Antonio, TX facility.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The Credit Risk Management Executive is a leadership role within Credit Risk for the Bank. This executive develops strategies to optimize the performance of Bank products and overall portfolio while managing the risk exposure in those products. The Credit Risk Management Executive is responsible for directing strategies to predict, evaluate and manage the credit risk in the Bank's portfolios. This position collaborates with Marketing, Product Management, Process Owners and Senior Management to design, implement and validate products and programs, balancing Market, Financial and Member impact.
In partnership the head of Bank Risk Modeling initiates development of modeling programs and systems to develop, project and validate risk at the account, segment and portfolio level for all existing and prospective loan products. Presents results of analysis to Senior Management along with recommendations for credit risk management strategies.
Coordinates with Product Managers, Finance and Marketing and all Process Owners to support development of new products and product offers to manage and appropriately price the credit risk of the bank and support Bank and USAA market and financial goals.
Leads development of risk tracking analysis and risk performance measures for all Bank loan products. Responsible for ensuring that the Bank has consistent thorough tracking and analysis for all products. Represents Credit Risk in Senior Officer Committee meetings.
Analyzes and advises Chief Credit Officer on proposals to alter / modify / improve Credit Risk strategies. Collaborates with Credit policy to develops, tests, implements and monitors strategies for account acquisition and portfolio management. Strategies can include credit limit increases, delinquency management, purchase and cash advance authorizations, and card re-issue programs.
Works with the process owners in the Acquire and Maintain Accounts teams to develop processes and strategies to automate the management of credit risk in the Acquisition, Qualification and Accounts Servicing processes.
Works with Finance to develop loss estimates for loan products. Loss estimates are used to appropriately price products by credit grade, market segments and any other risk segmentation. Present recommendations and actions to Senior Management on recommended changes to risk based segments along with price points by Credit grade.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management including providing technical expertise on special projects for the Bank and USAA. Serves as technical expert on Credit Risk.
Responsible for the Banks risk component of Economic Capital Strategy. Works with Finance to oversee, and implement the Banks Economic Capital Framework.
Partners with Finance to set monthly loan loss reserves, in accordance with all applicable accounting standards. Presents results to senior management along with recommendation for credit risk management strategies.
Directly accountable for Credit Stress Testing program, including ensuring compliance with regulatory and rating agency guidance. Partners with Finance, Marketing, Product Management and Enterprise to develop approach to understand existing and emerging risks ( including but not limited to market risk, operational risk, interest rate risk, credit risk) and their impacts on Banks balance sheet and income statement.
Accountable for the development and integration of the Banks Risk Appetite into all relevant decision processes.
Leads and develops teams of modelers and credit risk analysts.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job related experience.
5+ years experience developing strategies to optimize the performance of Bank products and overall portfolio while managing the risk exposure in those products.
10+ years credit risk bank operations experience.
Knowledge of risk tracking analysis and risk performance measures.
Experience conducting loss estimates for loan products; price products by credit grade, market segments and any other risk segmentation.
Experience setting loan loss reserve levels.
Knowledge in development of modeling programs and systems to validate risk.
Experience in managing Credit Stress Testing Programs, including ensuring compliance with regulatory and rating agency guidance.
Proven leadership and managerial experience in an executive capacity.
Master's Degree or PHD.
Expert in Economic Capital Modeling including detailed understanding Basel II and Basel III requirements.
Expert developing modeling programs and systems to validate risk.
Proven track record in innovating complex analytical systems.
