Current vacancies are located in Watershed Management, however, this register will be used to fill vacancies which may come available in other departments.
Supervises and participates in construction, maintenance, installation and/or repair activities for an assigned department. Operates a wide variety of heavy construction equipment for an assigned department.
Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining and completing employee performance appraisals.
Assigns tasks to crews and workers and trains subordinates on skills and proper methods and procedures needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
Organizes assigned personnel and equipment to efficiently and safely accomplish assigned tasks.
Inspects work site and ensures use of safety equipment.
Inventories equipment, materials, and supplies and ensures tools and equipment remain clean and in good working order.
Performs and/or oversees preventative maintenance tasks including cleaning and servicing trucks and equipment.
Prepares and maintains required documentation including job reports, accident reports, maintenance reports and work orders.
Operates heavy equipment or herbicide equipment.
Performs routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment utilized by crew.
Answers citizens' inquiries on job site.
Coordinates notification of customers when service interruptions are necessary.
High school diploma or GED; four years of experience in construction, maintenance, utilities repair, or a related field. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License. Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate to the level of vehicle or equipment operated. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
