The position requires: (1) at least a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, Law Enforcement/Corrections, Law Enforcement/Corrections related field, Homeland Security or Crime Scene/Forensics, or (2) a Juris Doctorate degree.
Substitution of Experience for Education Permitted (Non-faculty only)
This is a tenured-track faculty position beginning with Academic Year 2013 to 2014 (August 2013). The College desires candidates with on-going professional development interests, love of teaching, and enthusiasm for campus and College committees and activities.
Prefer applicants with: (1) law enforcement experience, (2) at least a Master's degree in Criminology with an emphasis on Criminological Theory and Criminal Behavior, (3) experience teaching courses such as Criminal Behavior, Criminal Typologies, and Criminology Research, and (4) experience teaching at the post-secondary level, preferably at a community college.

Pay Rate Explanation
A faculty member shall be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the College's contract with the faculty union. The present entry levels are: (Grade III) Bachelor's degree plus college faculty experience $40,487, (Grade II) Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the field $42,548, (Grade II+) Master's degree plus 30 graduate semester hours in the field $44,814 and (Grade I) an earned Doctorate in the field $47,081. The faculty union and College will negotiate the salary range for Academic Year 2012 to 2013.
