Provides general and day-to-day oversight of the College of Medicine curriculum map including data entry, searching syllabus materials, identifying discrepancies and meeting with faculty and course directors to identify critical information to be included in the mapping database; serves as a course director and/or assistant course director, as needed.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Participates in the design and implementation of a program for mapping the content of the undergraduate medical education curriculum – works with course directors and faculty to determine information to be added to the database; enters data into the mapping system; provides training to faculty and staff for using the system to extract data and reports; ensures that all components of the curriculum across four years of instruction are included in the database; supports the institution’s need for reports; communicates with the software vendor.
Serves as course director and/or assistant course director as determined by needs of the College of Medicine; completes course approval forms and syllabus materials in a timely manner; makes recommendations for and makes curricular change based on internal assessment of the curriculum as well as student feedback; creates and/or solicits and edits assessment questions for students’ examination and submits same to Academic Services; teaches in the courses as appropriate.
Key Skills and Personal Characteristics
- Master’s degree in a relevant area
- 3 years of experience in undergraduate, graduate or medical student teaching
- Experience leading teams
- Significant experience organizing data
