Bridge International Academies serves about 50,000 children in Kenya. We have 134 schools. The parents of our children tend to earn less than $2 per day. We're soon opening new schools in Uganda, India, and Nigeria.

We have a small Boston office with expert curriculum directors in math, science, English, Swahili, history, and pre-K. They need help. Curriculum Writing Fellows use model lesson scripts (developed by experts) to draft new lessons for Kenyan teachers. Most of the lessons will focus on Grade 7 curriculum. They also assist curriculum directors in research, and developing assessment questions.

Curriculum Writing Fellows commit to at least 3 months working in our Boston office writing lessons and content for Kenyan classrooms. Typical office hours are 8am to 4pm or 5pm. There is a small stipend, but the purpose of this work is to make a difference in the world. Remote work is also possible, so please inquire if this option seems like a good fit for you.

The Curriculum Writing Fellowship is a service program. It allows idealistic and dedicated people to invest their time in helping thousands of African children get a better day-to-day school experience. In the developing world, the number of students attending school is soaring, but the quality of most schools, according to international experts, is very low. Bridge believes each student has the potential to succeed at high levels, and that strong lesson plans can help them reach that potential.

We will provide training into the Kenyan school context. While the work is in education, and while we provide valuable training into the nature of teaching and assessment, we are not necessarily looking for future teachers. We also want future doctors, lawyers, MBAs, architects; we want majors from math, political science, literature, economics, engineering.
