Responsible for all housekeeping duties for assigned areas. Duties include but are not limited to: Maintains clean, safe, and sanitary conditions; maintain ICF/MR standards in assigned area. Operate housekeeping machinery as needed to maintain area. Cleans and maintains living facilities, dining areas, restrooms, office and all other facility areas. Dusts, mops, sweeps, buffs, strip wax, polish and renews floors, power washes as needed, scrubs sinks and toilets. Cleans countertops, floors, walls, and ceilings. Dusts and cleans furniture and equipment. Cleans blinds, screens, vents, and baseboards, empties trash, washes windows, mirrors, and glass. Vacuums and shampoos carpet. Replenishes soap, paper towels and toilet paper. Cleans sprinkler heads. Removes and hangs drapes. Maintain housekeeping responsibilities for specific areas, staff lounges, training rooms, storage areas, residential houses, plus other assigned areas.
Order supplies for assigned areas, maintains supply closet, check-in supplies. Removes snow and ice from walkways when needed. Attends in-services and other required meetings. Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary. In accordance with Section 124.11(B)(2), revised code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.

Knowledge of cleaning practices & procedures*; addition & subtraction. Skill in operating cleaning equipment & tools*. Ability to carry out simple instructions; recognize safety warnings; stand, walk or bend continuously; lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
