Reports to: Custodial and Setup Operations Manager and/or Lead Custodian
Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Cleaning and maintaining all campus buildings. Set up for special events or functions, move campus furniture, and assist in deliveries.
CLEANING – daily
Dump trash and replace trash liners, clean the inside of trash cans and sanitary napkin containers as needed
Wash and disinfect all sinks, toilet bowls. Clean underneath and outer side of toilets.
Clean counter tops with disinfectant cleaner.
Wipe clean all dispensers with disinfectant cleaner
Clean and polish mirrors.
Clean and polish all metal fixtures
Sweep, dust mop and wet mop entire floor surface in bathroom using disinfectant cleaner
Refill all paper and soap dispensers
Spot clean walls, doors and partitions
Clean all ventilation covers
Wash all partitions
Pour enzyme deodorant in all floor drains to control odors.
Machine scrub all tile floors
Machine scrub and wax all vinyl floors
Wash ceramic tiles on walls
Wipe clean painted walls
Offices, classrooms, residence halls and common areas:
Collect and dump all trash from waste receptacles and place in designated area. Wipe cans clean as needed, replace plastic liners
Dust clean all flat surfaces, such as desks, credenzas, file cabinets, etc. Do not move any personal belongings
Vacuum all carpeted areas
Dust mop all tile floors and wet mop with neutral cleaner
Clean and sanitize all water fountains
Remove spots on carpets on a weekly basis
Erase and clean all white boards
Dust clean all window ledges, do not move any personal belongings
Clean all stairwells, dust handrails, sweep and mop steps
Keep janitorial storage rooms clean and organized
Report to Supervisor any maintenance problems observed while working (clogged toilets, burnt out lights, holes in walls, etc)
Wash lobby glass doors inside and out
Perform high dusting, remove cobwebs
Clean off chair mats under desks
Spot clean walls as needed
Transport and set up furniture and equipment for special events per provided floor plan as required
Transporting, replacing, and reconfiguring furniture in all offices, classrooms, public areas, residence halls, and restrooms as necessary
TRASH – daily
Collect and remove trash from all offices, classrooms, public areas, residence halls, restrooms and grounds trash bins
Separate recyclables and put in appropriate bins
Transport trash to containers and assist Custodial and Setup Operations Manager in transporting trash off-site as required.
Pick up and transport all bagged large trash left at each building to nearest trash container
Pick up and flatten all cardboard and transport to nearest recycling container
Empty all trash from trash containers on sidewalks; replace liners and clean lids
Pick up litter on all walkways while making daily rounds
Wipe off any large spills near building entrances
Sweep clean all building entrances including steps and immediate areas of sidewalks and around trash areas
Stock and verify inventory in custodial closets
OTHER – Any other duties as required or called in by Facilities and/or Custodial and Setup Operations Manager or Lead Custodian
Valid California Drivers License
Knowledge of blood borne pathogen safety
Lifting capabilities of 50 lbs
Experience with floor cleaning equipment
Knowledge of cleaning products/chemicals and safe handling procedures
