To intake all HME/RT equipment and verify insurance for all requests and obtain initial authorizations and referrals from physicians. To perform filing, records management, inventory and receptionist duties and other clerical support as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of qualifying medical technology and medical billing practices. Knowledge of computer software to include Microsoft Office and medical software program. Working knowledge of third party payers, HMO insurance and medical terminology.

Intakes primary referral for HME, RT and Diabetic supplies and arranges delivery of such items using independent judgement, referral sources and matching patient needs with insurance reimbursements. Enters all new orders and informs RST¿ s about pickups and any equipment problems.
Completes and submits initial CMN and HME authorizations and payer authorizations and verifies insurance for any referrals that are necessary.
Enters all new patients into computer system for billing purposes and files all patient records and supporting documents in proper sequence. Schedules patients for clinic appointments and prepares necessary paperwork.
Generates weekly oxygen schedule and contacts patients to schedule monthly equipment deliveries. Insures integrity of the patient¿s clinical record with appropriate documentation for billing.
Greets visitors in a friendly, helpful, cooperative, and responsive manner. Provides appropriate directional requests as needed. Investigates and reviews customer complaints and billing issues with Erie staff.
Answers and responds to telephone calls. Assists patients, visitors and other customers assuring their needs are referred to the appropriate resources.
