The customer service representative performs quality customer service, such as opening new accounts, establishing direct deposit accounts and assisting current and potential customers with queries concerning financial institution services. You will be responsible for the development of new business relationships and maintaining existing relationships. You will also answer questions on all services the financial institution provides, and recognize selling and referral opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform a range of customer services at the financial institution, including opening new accounts, explaining available financial products and services, and gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts
  • Receive deposits and ensure that all accounts are properly processed
  • Receive, research, and answer customer inquiries and requests regarding accounts, products, rates, and services offered
  • Resolve customer complaints in a tactful, effective manner, and explain financial institution policies
  • Open new accounts, including savings, CD, IRA, and checking while maintaining customer confidentially
  • Provide complete service to customers, including wire transfers, selling travelers checks, foreign drafts
  • Monitor, evaluate, and present solutions to potential problem areas
  • Remain current on changes in policies, procedures, and product offerings
  • Assist customers with their loan applications
  • Assure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Develop and maintain the Bank's image and corporate philosophy within the community
  • Perform ATM settlement
  • Participate in sales, service and product training meetings
  • Prepare reports and assist the manager with special projects as assigned
  • Open and close branch office by following established security procedures
  • Follow policies and procedures related to retail areas
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Branch Manager
Required Skills:
  • High school diploma required; associate degree with related courses in banking preferred
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Experience in the teller function, as well as sales experience
  • Good understanding of financial products and services
  • Ability to safeguard customer confidentially
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills
