Cargill is currently recruiting for a Customer Service Representative position.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team environment. Main responsibilities include grain or soybean meal contract entry, buying grain, selling marketing solutions, logistics support, providing over-the-phone customer service, contract and account maintenance, and other related duties. There will be interaction with customers, merchants, transportation suppliers, internal departments, and plant personnel.

you will be responsible for assisting the merchant sales and purchases including: entering contracts, creating load orders, aligning supply at our plant with customer purchases, creating schedules, booking and negotiating freight (within defined parameters), making arbitrage decisions (least cost decisions) and working on accounts receivables.


Associates degree in Accounting or Business or related experience


2 years experience in customer service


Ability to accurately and consistently execute complex and detailed processes and procedures


Strong communication skills, especially on the phone


Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment


Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team


Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite


Proactive in providing solutions and process improvements


Ability to adapt to change


Effective prioritization skills


Ability to work overtime as business needs arise

  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.

Familiarity with grain merchandising including contract terms and specifications

Accounting analysis skills

Experience with over-the-phone customer service
