Under supervision of the Customer Service Lead or Center Manager, a Customer Service Representative will perform all of the clerical functions (paper and electronic) related to the intake, redemption and adoption of animals, provide and maintain customer service to the public, assist the public either in person or via telephone by providing information regarding the Center’s policies and the laws set forth by the Department of Health and Human Services, provide general information regarding pet care and ownership responsibility, direct the public to other areas within the Center for requests information, process monetary transactions for adoptions, redemptions, donations and fees for services provided, use the Chameleon Computer Database in carrying out the function of their job, ability in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English, follow AACCC policies and procedures and completes all other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greets, in a timely manner, the clients via the telephone or the front counter. Ascertains the type of service requested by the client and either provides the necessary service or directs them to the correct person or location.
Answers the clients in a courteous and professional manner regarding costs, care, lost and found animals, adoption services, animal rescue services or other services provided by the center.
Uses the Chameleon Computer Database to enter, maintain, update, track and outcome animals brought to the Center as well as maintain spay/neuter records, and client information and produce the required and or requested documents.
Responsible for the accuracy of all monetary transactions by recording all transactions in computer system and balancing the register drawer on a daily basis.
Keep the customer service area neat and clean to maintain profession public appearance.
Complete opening and closing procedures for customer service counter.
Represent Doyon-Universal Services in a positive, courteous and professional manner.
Other related work as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Six months cash handling experience
High School Diploma or GED.
One year of customer service experience
Six months experience of telephone use in a professional manner
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of the work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: An individual will be required to work the majority of hours in a general office environment, and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands.
