Customer Service Representative
The Michigan Humane Society (MHS) has an opening for a full-time Customer Service Representative (CSR) to provide support to the public and the adoption area at our Berman Center for Animal Care in Westland. The CSR’s responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: providing general information and support to the public on the phone and in person; assisting customers with preliminary adoption paperwork; greeting customers as they enter the facility and directing them to appropriate areas; and explaining procedures and protocols to customers. Schedule will include weekdays and weekends. Reliable attendance is a must!
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED; six to nine months of excellent customer service experience is also required. The CSR must be able to perform professionally in a pressure-filled environment; maintain a professional and positive attitude and uphold the principles and beliefs of the organization at all times; focus on solving conflicts; maintain confidentiality; listen to customers without interruption; keep emotions under control; write clearly and informatively; read and interpret standard operating procedures and protocols; follow instructions; respond to management direction; take responsibility for own actions; observe safety and security procedures; use equipment and materials properly; and be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
