New Directions Behavioral Health is seeking Customer Service Representatives for our Topeka office to p rovide Member/Client and Provider services for our BCBKS members.

The Customer Service Representative Key Responsibilities include:

  • Take initial calls from Clients/Members and Providers. Verify demographic information and benefits. Triage call to the appropriate Care Manager.
  • Handles inquiries i.e. where to send claims, benefits, product information from Clients/Members and Providers Resolves problems from members, providers of services, internal staff, management staff and enrollment provisions of specific lines of business as assigned.
  • Entry of authorization into various computer systems.
  • Routine outpatient referrals and authorizations with referral of potentially high risk Members to the clinical team
  • Process paperwork for addition of new Providers/Practitioners to the Provider Search System in OPTAMUM
  • Meet internal standards set forth to comply with company contract requirements.
  • Directly responsible for retention efforts for existing customers by high caliber superlative service.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma
    • 2 + years customer service experience
    • Proven written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, demonstrated willingness to work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health related field
    • 5+ years experience in a behavioral health setting
    • Bilingual/Spanish – Proficiency in English required and strongly prefer proficiency in Spanish
