A Customer Service Representative is responsible for supporting Gateway EDI’s customers, vendors, and other clients who are utilizing Gateway EDI’s products and services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Answer all initial incoming calls from the Customer Service ACD system in a timely manner and route all calls appropriately.
Answer all client questions about Gateway EDI's products and services.
Direct calls that require additional support outside the scope of department to appropriate area within company.
Responsible for working reports, projects, and other duties assigned by the Customer Service Supervisor.
Respond to and log all incoming customer service questions received via email, fax, or other alternative methods.
Identify, research, and resolve issues and tasks in a timely manner.
Accountable for the appropriate assignment of work flow to other departments using service logs.
Accept and comply with the policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Gateway EDI Associate Manual.
High school education or equivalent required. College degree is a plus. Experience using MS Office Suite including basic Excel skills are required. An understanding of the insurance industry, electronic claims or medical office knowledge, and 1-2 years experience in a call center setting would be beneficial.
Knowledge and Experience
Possess strong customer service and telephone skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good problem-solving and organizational skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working knowledge of the insurance industry.
Understanding of basic mapping, rules, edits and all formats.
Attention to detail and quality oriented.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to set priorities yet remain flexible.
