Sargento Foods Inc. is looking for an entry level Customer Support Associate. This person must possess strong computer skills and have experience in an administrative support role.
Ability to perform a variety of duties in a fast-paced work environment. Apply knowledge of customer account requirements and special situations and act as a collaborative liaison between Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Brokers, Production, etc. with the goals of strengthening customer relationships and achieving key performance indicators and world class customer service. Provide administrative support to the Customer Support Department including the preparation of letters, reports, memos and faxes, Power Point presentations, scheduling of meetings, arranging travel, purchasing of supplies, opening and sorting of mail, making copies and filing, etc. Participates in problem-solving process when obstacles occur to meet Sargento core strategy of “BEST AT”……customer/consumer response.
Responsible for record retention including overall organization of the customer support documentum cabinet, transfer of completed orders to accounting, and for insuring documents/files are rotated or destroyed in accordance with corporate record retention guidelines.
Create customer masters and maintain in Documentum, insuring that all pertinent information is available and verified. Contact individual(s) necessary to validate provided information including sales managers, sales assistants, internal support departments, or customers as appropriate to confirm critical information.
Requires understanding the importance of accurate customer master data to downstream data accuracy and process support.
Responsible for accurately entering order type appropriate for miscellaneous/distressed products to ensure proper P/L account assignment. Examples include damaged pallets, trim, packaging materials, liners, finished goods and raw materials.
Accurate application of manual pricing for samples and additional freight that is determined to be the responsibility of the customer when processing sales orders or samples is required.
Actively participates in department and cross-functional meetings as directed by management.
Compiles and prepares statistical reports including weekly and monthly volume, inventory management, and customer profitability.
Prepares logistic measures monthly/quarterly/annual as requested or scheduled for monthly scorecard reporting, business reviews, etc.
Manage the entry and follow up of time sensitive customer sample shipment requests and for merchandising materials.
Work with appropriate internal departments and external resources to meet requested due dates.
Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail, faxes and Federal Express packages.
Facilitates communication of customer needs to appropriate customer account coordinator or specialist.
Centrally maintains files, both electronically and hard copy as required to support on-going department operations and activities.
Compiles necessary data for creation of new customer masters or changes to existing customer masters and submits document into customer master on-boarding workflow process for cross-functional approval and entry in SAP.
Creates and maintains customer specific contact information in Outlook necessary to support business.
Problem Resolution/customer service Work closely with customer support specialist(s) to understand customer requirements in order to work with customers/distributors when able and/or assigned to meet customer expectations.
Maintains quality concerns module and communicates results internally and external as required.
Coordinates product recall information as necessary, and manage inbound recall status updates of information received from customers and brokers.
Manage notification process to external customers and internal departments of the status of customer specification changes.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is requied.
Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Associate degree preferred.
Strong computer skills are necessary for this position. Proficient at Microsoft applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook) is required.
SAP, BW, and Documentum (Controlled and Corporate) experience preferred but not required.
Must possess strong communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-changing environment.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
